September 10, 2019

Professor Scassellati and a team of interdiscplinary researchers have received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Convergence Accelerator award for their proposal to develop “Innovative Technologies for Neurodiverse Workforce Inclusion.” The group seeks to design an AI-driven inclusive employment framework that optimizes the workforce integration of neurodiverse individuals, such as individuals with ASD, enhancing outcomes for individuals, businesses, the economy, and society as a whole.  This work will advance the current state of the art in AI-based technologies, with an emphasis on personalized support for successful employment.

NSF’s Convergence Accelerator effort is a new capability within NSF to accelerate use-inspired, convergence research in areas of national importance via partnerships between academic and non-academic stakeholders. The C-Accel effort provides a home for this research and advances ideas from concept to deliverables.
