Yale Team a Winning Putnam Team

The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is the preeminent mathematics competition for undergraduate college students in the United States and Canada, administered by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). The competition began in 1938 as a competition between mathematics departments at colleges and universities, and it has since grown to be the leading university-level mathematics examination in the world. The latest competition took place on Dec. 3, 2022, with 3,415 students from 456 institutions. The Yale team is only one of the 5 winning teams. The Yale team consists of Richie Hsiung (‘25, Undeclared), Deyuan Li (‘24, CS+Math) and Andrew Milas (‘24, CS+Math).
