Title: Establishing trust in confidential communication and computation systems

Abstract:

This talk presents an overview of three methods into building trust in confidential communication and computation systems. Initially, it delves into the Pudding protocol, which allows users to discover each other’s keys in anonymity networks, vital for privacy-sensitive users such as whistleblowers. The talk then transitions to establishing trust in dynamic Confidential Computing networks, introducing a protocol for seamless interoperability and efficiency across a variety of use cases, including IoT devices and smart city infrastructures. The final focus is on a transparency framework for Confidential Computing, designed to offer explicit security assurances for protecting data in-use, including in privacy-preserving machine learning applications.
