ACM SIGCOMM presented Hongqiang Liu the Doctoral Dissertation Award - Honorable Mention

The ACM Special Interest Group on the Data Communication (SIGCOMM) has presented the 2014 SIGCOMM Doctoral Dissertation Award - Honorable Mention to Hongqiang Liu. This is the only Honorable Mention Award this year. Hongqiang Liu completed his dissertation titled “Traffic Planning under Network Dynamics” at Yale University under the supervision of Prof. David Gelernter. This dissertation presents the design and implementation of practical, uniform, automatic, and proactive techniques to prevent the link congestion commonly caused by network faults and maintenance.

The ACM SIGCOMM Doctoral Dissertation Award was created by SIGCOMM in 2011, and will recognize excellent thesis research by doctoral candidates in the field of computer networking and data communication. The SIGCOMM Doctoral Dissertation Award winner and up to two honorable mentions will be recognized at the ACM SIGCOMM conference.

The award committee was comprised of Mark Crovella, Arvind Krishnamurthy, Nikolaos Laoutaris, Alan Mislove, Neil Spring (chair), and Arun Venkataramani.
