Rachel Sterneck is a recipient of the CSGrad4US fellowship by NSF. The fellowship aims to increase the number of diverse, domestic graduate students pursuing research and innovation careers in computing fields by providing mentorship and funding.
Rachel completed her B. A. in 2022, majoring in Computer Science and Psychology, and did her senior project with the Interactive Machines group, investigating human perceptions of robots in interactive surveys, video surveys and in the real world. Passionate about increasing students’ access to computer science education and research opportunities, Rachel also taught computer science classes in New Haven public schools and was Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Undergraduate Research Journal while an undergrad at Yale. Since graduating, Rachel has been working at DeepMind as a software engineer, where she builds distributed storage tools for AI research.
