Rex Ying Awarded Two NSF Grants for Research in Machine Learning

Rex Ying was recently awarded two new NSF grants in the area of Machine Learning. The project “Explainable Multi-modality Time Series Question Answering System” https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2431504 , in collaboration with the Idaho National lab https://inl.gov/, aims to develop a  time series text-based question answering  system that can accelerate a wide range of research. The project  “Contextualized and Multimodal Foundation Models for Graph Data in Scientific Discovery” https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2403317 with Yale co-PI Smita Krishnaswamy, seeks to accelerate scientific discovery  by developing a general foundation model framework for data represented as a graph in scientific domains.
