Yale CS Drops GRE for PhDs

July 1, 2021

Yale CS will no longer require, and no longer accept, GRE scores for PhD applications. In order to encourage applications from the widest possible range of applicants, especially under-represented minorities (URMs), the faculty recently voted to drop this requirement. More details on this decision can be found on the SEAS website.

Additionally, future applicants are encouraged to examine whether they qualify for an application fee waiver. Members in a variety of organizations, including SACNAS and NSBE, qualify to have the $105 application fee waived. A complete list of programs and organizations are available on the GSAS website.
